Ladies golf bags: Designer look yet still practical
On our last trip to Maui, my husband and I brought our golf bags with us. (Yes, we brought our golf bags on our honeymoon!) I brought my junior golf bag similar to the picture on the right. I switched to the smaller junior stand bag a few years ago because I wanted to carry my clubs and not haul them in a pull-cart. For the flights to Maui, I did not secure the kick stand with tape so now the kick-back action is not perfect. I’m fed up with it so now I am on the search for a new stand bag that does not dwarf me in size.
There are many styles of ladies golf bags available now. I found that the best selection and deals are online rather than in the golf shops. I also live in Canada so the most selection and sales are in the US. Some of the best deals I’ve found have been on eBay for used and new golf bags. Some vendors are even offering free shipping to Canada. Here are some stand bags that I really like:
The Keri golf bags can be found online at www.LadyGolf.com. Some of the features of the Keri brand are:
- Lightweight stand bag at around 7lbs and height of 34 inches
- 8-inches oval top
- 5 full length club dividers (The more dividers the better, I say!)
- Putter well (A must! – Can’t stand a scratch on my little putter.)
- Double padded strap carry system that easily converts to a single strap
- Lumbar back pad (Ahhhh… nice. My junior bag didn’t have this.)
- 4 external pockets and 6 internal compartments (Sweet!!!)
- Ball sleeve pocket (No more unsightly bulges from stuffing two balls in my back pocket. No garbage mind comments, please! =P)
- Unbrella holder (Perfect for Vancouver unpredictable rainy weather!)
- Detachable coordinating zip bag & mirror (For makeup and stuff for Hole #19!)
- Exterior tee slots (Again, no more unsightly bulges and pointy tips in back pocket.)
- Matching travel/rain hood
Here is my ultimate stand bag:

with 4-way top covered with soft fur
Hmmm… our anniversary is coming up. (Hint hint to the hubby since my golf bag did get broken on our honeymoon.) — Editor’s note: Again, no garbage minded comments, please! =P
